✨ Tattoo Preparation Guide ✨
What to know before getting tattooed
Getting a tattoo is exciting, but preparation is key to a smooth experience and beautiful healing. Here’s how to get ready:
⸻
1. Before Your Appointment:
- Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water 24–48 hours before your session. Hydrated skin takes ink better and heals faster. - Moisturize the area daily
Use a fragrance-free lotion the week leading up to your appointment (but skip the lotion the day of). - Get a good night’s sleep
Rested bodies handle pain better and stay calmer. - Avoid alcohol, caffeine & blood thinners
At least 24 hours before. These can thin your blood and make you more sensitive. - Eat a full meal before your session
Low blood sugar = higher sensitivity and risk of feeling faint. Bring a snack for longer sessions.
⸻
2. What to Wear & Bring:
- Wear comfortable, loose clothing
Choose something that gives access to the area being tattooed, and that you don’t mind getting stained. - Bring water and snacks
Especially for sessions longer than an hour. - Bring headphones or something to entertain you
This helps pass the time and keeps your body relaxed.
⸻
3. Please Avoid:
- Tanning or sunburns on the area
- Shaving right before your appointment
I’ll take care of it safely for you - Heavy workouts the day of
- Showing up under the influence
